What a neat day... students are coming along based on all evidence i have. They have a deep understanding of concepts and are reaching a point at which they can apply creativity to classroom content. Students are currently writing letters to Hunter Gatherers informing them of what is going to happen in the Neolithic. Students will discuss the outcomes and pass judgement informing the H/Gs of whether they think the upcoming changes are positive or negative toward human existence.
7th Grade classes began discussing the idea of insurance, the rampant assigning of monetary value in our culture and why money seems to drive us. They are meant to look as outsiders and pass judgement of the meaning of the way we use $$ in our system.

Reading this makes me sad that this cold of mine, is kicking my butt. It seems like I missed out on a good day. Hopefully I'll be back and in full force tomorrow. :]

ReplyDeleteI like writing my letter to Hungah. It's a great idea and i'm really having fun with it. The only thing i'm worried about is not getting a great grade. I thought i had an excellent ID and that was a hundred, but by your sommentary you weren't thrilled.... so i'm trying... but... it's... different...

Not at all, it was great! The question I posed was: can it get even better? You could write that ID for different content all year and get a 100% on every ID assignment; my challenge to you is that despite that you continue to try to go above and beyond what i ask of you.

ReplyDeleteOh, im not confused; its just INCREDIBLY important to me that you all understand exactly what i want from you which, quite simply, is the best work youve EVER done every tome you do work. Of course its going to be based on the type of work you do and youre comfort level with the type of writing im asking for.
